My name is Matt McCann and I have been in the fitness/athletic development field since 2005. Fitness and athletic development have always been a passion of mine. I was blessed to work with a trainer as a kid to properly show me how to train and lift correctly to improve athletic performance.
In college, I majored in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine with aspirations of becoming a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. After college, a private fitness company hired me to do fitness and athletic development training. That’s when I realized I truly enjoyed training people in both fields. As I began my new position, I was also beginning my post-graduate program in Kinesiology at Northridge University where I volunteered in the weight room helping the strength and conditioning coach.
I quickly came to the decision that I enjoyed working with both fitness clients and athletes, so I stayed at the private training facility until I started my own business in 2010.
Since then, I have had the opportunity to work with many amazing people in person and online. I love my job and enjoy helping my clients meet their goals!
1 on 1 training- All your fitness routines are customized to meet your specific goals and needs after an initial assessment. I am in person to ensure everything is done correctly, as well as provide support and accountability.
Semi-Private training (2-3 clients)- This works well with friends who want to train together but also have individualized programs. Clients are monitored the whole time and training programs will be designed specifically for each client.
Small group training (4+ clients)- Working out in a small group still allows me to monitor everyone’s programs and mechanics to ensure safety and efficiency to reach your personal fitness goals.
Athletic development programs are designed based on the goals and needs of the athlete. Athletic development programs include speed, agility, strength/power, endurance, and mobility training. After an initial assessment, I will design a program to enhance your athletic performance and reduce the risk of injury in your sport(s).
The online program design allows you the flexibility to train whenever, wherever you want. Whether at a local gym or your personal home, I can design a training program that will help you meet your goals and needs after an initial assessment.
I use the TrueCoach platform to design your warm up, resistance workout, cardio workout, post exercise stretching routines etc. The platform has an exercise library that allows me to attach videos of how the exercises should be done correctly if you ever have questions.
The TrueCoach platform allows you to make notes, send videos of your workouts, and communicate easily with me so I know how to appropriately modify and progress your fitness routine.
I monitor and offer nutrition advice to help you reach your health and fitness goals. After an initial assessment, I calculate your macronutrient needs by breaking down how much protein, carbohydrates, and fats you should be eating.
